The Republic of Karsten is a republic ruled by a feudal lord but dominated by a parliament of knights. As such, the Mithril Hawks aren't just part of the aristocracy—they're also Karsten's fighting elite.
Countering the Kingdom of Veck's advantage in Arche tech and fighting off chimeras requires professional warriors better capable of turning the tide than small assault squads like the Talon. Handpicked members of the knightly aristocracy are injected in the pupil of the eye with a substance refined from the lava of a blue crystal volcano, turning their eyes varying degrees of crystalline blue and transforming them into inhumanly cool-headed warriors with exceptional reflexes. Unlike the Talon squad, who are injected with the Blood of the Horus, the knights produced by this process are not prone to erupting in uncontrollable rage.
They're backed up by the Godkiller 88cm sniper cannon. Fondly dubbed the Theocide, said cannon is manufactured by Rhineland Mineworks out of a blue crystal alloy and is powered by tanks of blue crystal energy known as Ymirus jars. When aimed by eyes enhanced with blue crystal particles, the Godkiller can stop a chimera in its tracks at a range of 5000 meters virtually effortlessly. It's speculated that if powered by Archecore engines and given enough time to charge, it would be capable of intercepting a falling meteorite.
Ymirus or chimera, all shall fall before us, they boast. Just as their name suggests, the Godkiller Cannon Knights are tasked with containing Arche-Ymirus and slaying chimeras. But they are perhaps better known for subduing and punishing Talon gone berserk, and thus have gained a reputation as terrifying enforcers of military law.
